The City of Shenandoah is beginning a number of projects in 2023 that will bring changes to all areas of the city. In order to help you plan travel needs, as well as keep you informed on the progress, the website will now feature "Construction Zone."
Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Interim Phase Improvements
The WWTP Interim Phase Improvements project includes the construction of a new aerobic digester facility; conversion of the digester basins into aeration basins; replacement of aeration basin air piping and diffusers; upgrade of air blowers, air header modifications; improvement of the blower room ventilation; improvement of the aeration basin routing to allow isolation of clarifier feed channels; improvement of the Clarifier RAS transfer line; replacement of the Motor Control Center and other electrical equipment; rehabilitation of the dewatering equipment and building structure; replacement of the existing belt filter press with a new rotary fan press; modification of the chlorine contact basin air piping; upgrade of the generator; extension of the three-phase power to chemical building; replacement of the chemical feed equipment; improvement of the chemical building; replacement of the perimeter fencing and rolling gates; minor drainage improvements and Inflow and Infiltration mitigation.
This project will bump the City’s WWTP operation capability to our permitted 1.3 MGD facility.
