To say it has been a hot summer is an understatement. Many have planted flowers during this period only to see them literally burn up. Others have had to replace shrubs that simply could not beat the heat. It has been a challenging summer for gardens and lawns. It is a testament to hard work, dedication and determination that the city has had as many pretty yards as it has this summer. Hats off to you for persevering!
The Civic Club's October Yard of the Month, 28706 Holly Hill, is the home of longtime residents Rodney and Jodie Wingerter. They now live in the house in which Rodney grew up. Their yard is consistently mentioned by both residents and visitors to Shenandoah since it is on a very busy street. Regardless of the time of year or the seasonal weather, this yard is always manicured and pleasant to the eye. The boulders are also favorites of the commenters as they make the yard pop and add beautiful rich color to the greenery. Thank you for helping to provide a beautiful entry into the residential area.
