The Shenandoah City Council welcomed members of the Twin Creeks Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) to the August 24 Council meeting. The group, which meets in Shenandoah, asked the city for help in preparing for the 235th anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution.
Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President designating September 17-23 as Constitution Week and the chapter asked the city to also proclaim it in Shenandoah.
Mayor John Escoto signed and read the proclamation designating the week of September 17-23 as Constitution Week before presenting it to Chapter Regent Karen Jacobs and DAR members in attendance.
