This week the Shenandoah Police Department assisted in an anti-human trafficking operation conducted in the city limits.  The operation was led by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Criminal Investigations Division and included members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Conroe Police Department, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Children’s Safe Harbor, and Texas F.N.E.

The three-day operation targeted suspects forcing victims to operate as sex workers.  The operation led to the arrests of three suspects who were charged with promotion of prostitution and other associated human trafficking offenses.  The goal of the operation was to rescue victims being forced into sex slavery and to arrest those responsible.  During the operation, four victims, including one juvenile, were rescued and offered victim services;  an additional missing juvenile was also recovered.
