Lower Sales Tax
About 70% of the City’s revenue is from sales tax, which has allowed officials to lower the property tax rates to the lowest in Montgomery County. City staff provides a high standard of service to its residents, and maintains facilities and infrastructure to meet the demands of growth.

Shenandoah began as a bedroom community of 500 homes and was incorporated into a city in 1974. The city limits encompass two square miles that straddle Interstate 45. Within its geographical boundaries, there is a range of the following facilities:
