The Shenandoah Police Department's Recruiting and Professional Standards initiatives encompass the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation (TPCAF) Law Enforcement Recognition Program, Public Information and Media Relations efforts, Recruiting, Background Investigation and Internal Affairs.
In 2007, the Shenandoah Police Department became the first CALEA Accredited Law Enforcement Agency in Montgomery County. In 2009, the Shenandoah Police Department became the 12th TPCA Recognized Law Enforcement Agency and the first municipal law enforcement agency in Texas to be both CALEA Accredited and TPCA Recognized. Currently, The Shenandoah Police Department is a TPCA Foundation Recognized Law Enforcement Agency and a leader in modern professional law enforcement practices. The Shenandoah Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Entrance testing will be conducted on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 9:00 AM, at the Shenandoah Municipal Complex located at 29955 IH 45 North, Shenandoah, TX 77381. Applicant testing will consist of physical fitness, a written exam, and firearms qualification.
Police Applicant Information Packets, which include important instructions, must be obtained at either the City of Shenandoah Municipal Complex, online at www.shenandoahtx.us, or by calling 281-367-8952. All required applicant information (PROFESSIONAL RESUME AND APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT) must be received by November 10, 2017 at 5 pm to be eligible for the testing process.
