You can pull a permit for your project from our Permits and Inspections page.
The City has adopted building codes and standards that may apply to any improvements being performed. Check with the department staff regarding local requirements.
Shenandoah's economic development efforts focus on creating opportunities for growth and success through new commercial and residential development. City officials work to build relationships with commercial developers, recruit new retailers and network with economic development agencies.
The City Administrator is the initial point of contact for developers who approach Shenandoah with potential projects. The City Administrator determines the viability of these projects and how they would fit into the city’s comprehensive plan. Proposed development projects are reviewed extensively by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission, with final action by the City Council. The city’s web site provides extensive information to guide developers through the process.
